To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Intercontinental hosted an afternoon of talks and seminars in aid of Dar Merħba Bik, a Maltese NGO that saves the lives of women who suffer domestic violence. To conclude the event, a fashion show was organized and curated by Supernova Management and, once again with Marisa at the helm, it was a pleasure to have been invited especially to support an honourable cause. The participating brands were Promod and LIST.
The fashion show was interspersed with musical intervals until it was time to announce Designs of Distinction, showcasing the work of couturier Jesmond Sammut for YesusDeMaris. After a brief introduction of Jesmond’s long-standing career in Haute Couture, the display commenced whereby models glided down the catwalk in sumptuous gowns, the common thread being the delicate pink hues.
The attention to detail emerged in each piece, whether it was a full-length dress or in the form of separates. The materials were also varied with lace, chiffon, and fine organza leaving a mark on the designs. As one can tell, these outfits would suit a certain clientele of women who are on the lookout for upcoming (spring/summer) weddings or special occasions. It was truly a pleasant evening and the perfect opportunity to meet fellow bloggers as well!
