Have you ever realised that running errands or working in Valletta (Malta’s capital city) can grind you down, especially now that the temperatures are rising? If your answer is a resounding yes, then consider this: What better way to spend an afternoon than to indulge in one or more of the offerings below? No need to think about it…it is indeed an opportunity to unplug from the frenetic rhythms of mundanity!
Dean Gera’s spanking new salon located in the hub of the capital city brings to you the best of three worlds: hair styling, facials and massages, and manicures. If you are not familiar with the Dean Gera brand (or you are a visiting tourist reading this), then you must know that this is one of the biggest names in hair styling on our islands. With different salons spread strategically around Malta, Dean Gera offers a range of services mostly in the hair department, from the usual blow dry to different types of colour treatment and other specialised treatments, such as True Keratin Treatment and Japanese Straightening.
The new salon at the Embassy Complex, however, presents the innovative concept of the one-stop shop where you can pamper yourself with facial and a massage; what is more, the salon uses Dermalogica products for the facials so that makes it even better! Have a look at the interior decor of the spa room at the Valletta salon…
As part of a collaboration project with Main Street Complex (more on that soon, meanwhile check out a previous post here) and Embassy Shopping Complex, I have teamed up with Dean Gera to provide you with more information and opinions on some of the services mentioned. So keep an eye out for this spot as more will be coming your way…
Meanwhile, here is some background information on Dean Gera’s hairdressing career (adapted from the website to make it easier for you):
Dean Gera states: ‘Hair is my absolute passion, I am so lucky that I have a job that allows me to be an ambassador for something I love.’
Dean was born into a family of hairdressers. His mother, aunt and uncle all hold prestigious names among the Maltese locals. Dean took up hairdressing professionally at the tender age of 16 and worked alongside his mother for 4 years. Working in London had always been a dream of Dean’s. He fulfilled this by training under Trevor Sorbie in his prestigious salon in Covent Garden. During his time at Trevor Sorbie, Dean also worked backstage at Trevor’s international shows and seminars.
Dean Gera salons are located in the following towns/cities: The Point Complex, Sliema; Corinthia Hotel, St Julian’s; Corinthia Palace Spa and Resort, Balzan.
