As 2016 draws to a close (it’s 18.15 here in Bali), I’m relaxing by the pool and finalizing the last makeup review of this year. Apart from the products I’ve reviewed in other posts, I know what else I’ll be using for my NYE’s makeup: PUPA’s contouring palette and bronzer! I’ve used them already on my trip so here’s a review…
Contouring palette: it’s that time of the year when you want to look your best but without too much effort. I tried PUPA’s contouring and strobing palette a number of times and I really think it’s straightforward to use because the textures are so velvety and with just a touch of the brush you have lots of colour. It’s also convenient to carry around if you’re travelling at this time of year because it’s so lightweight and compact. In fact I carried it in my hand luggage makeup pouch. It lasts very well as I tried it whilst abroad in a warmer climate and when I cleansed my face there was still a lot of product /residue that came off on the facecloth despite the humidity and heat. I cannot recommend it enough!
PUPA’s new bronzer called Maxi Blush: I’ve had quite my fair share of trying bronzers but of late I had stopped using them in favour of contouring palettes, such as PUPA’s above product which I cannot stop using. However, when I want that colour and shine but don’t have the time to work on perfecting a contoured look, then this new PUPA maxi blush pulls double duty, as highlighter thanks to its glimmer effect, and coloration in lieu of other products achieved by means of its rich texture. This does not mean it feels heavy on the skin. On the contrary, applying it is very easy and it is smooth to the touch given that it also comes with a well-made applicator, so this compact is perfect for travel purposes or if you want to slip it in your bag for the occasional touch up. At a very reasonable and competitive price you know you’re getting your money’s worth. Another 2 things that I like about it are its durability and colour – re the long lasting quality I tried this in hot climates as mentioned above, and I must say it passed the test as it did not run or like a hot mess or felt cakey. In the case of colour, I thought it would be on the orange side when I first opened it but I was pleased that it blended in well and still looked natural – you do have to blend it with a brush and you don’t have to use a lot of product for effect so it should last a number of months, depending on use of course.
What do you think? Are you interested enough? There is still time to get your hands on these two lovely products before we usher in 2017 – Happy New Year!!
ps Below is a mini gallery to show you where I used these products!
Finally, I would like to thank all the companies and brands who have worked with this blog in the makeup department! While looking forward to work even more, both with makeup and fashion brands, I am truly grateful for the collaborations of 2016!
