Finally I have regained some time for myself to do what I love the most in terms of content creation: styling outfits. During my doctoral studies it was not possible to give up afternoons or even a number of valuable research hours to organise photo shoots which are time-consuming, believe it or not. Well, the plan is to change that and now that I have finished my studies and obtained my doctorate successfully, it is time to celebrate, and in this case present to you a healthy dose of outfit ideas whenever I can. The concept behind the above is a mini-series centred around layering, with the idea being to challenge oneself in coming up with different combinations that have one thing in common: the base. A classic black polo neck and dark skinny jeans (sorry, but I am bringing them back here because they are extremely versatile) will serve as the foundation upon which various outerwear and shoes will be added. In total, I have 4 outfits to showcase and this is the first one, an homage to Parisian chic, and what can be more French than a trench coat and hair tied with a bowtie band to one side? The sock boots though are the least French item probably but then again sleekness was the aim here as well as a clean palette. Oh, and did you know that incidentally the photos were taken right in front of the cafe called French Affaire – now if that isn’t a coincidence!
Photos taken by the delightful and talented Marie Claire Portelli who has one KILLER FEED on Instagram, so go follow her now!!
Below is also a video we took on the day of the photo shoot and which I edited later on with the amazing music from ‘Only You and Me’ (Flume Remix feat. Eliza Doolittle)
