Stand tall and be proud. Be confident in your skin, with who you are. .
.
.
You hear people say this often, but are we really happy with who we are and what we have achieved? The moment we compare ourself to others is the moment we are robbing ourselves of what we deserve: self-pride, peace, and serenity. How do you fight against this negativity?
.

What I did to overcome self-doubt involved a long journey of introspection and self-exploration. I worked on improving myself on different levels. I did this while not caring about what others were doing, but being mindful of my goals, priorities, and the things I truly care about. .
.
.
Working in the blogging/ social media industry is not easy- there are jealous, petty, and mean people around who pretend to be nice but who sabotage others. I have long ago decided to do a detox of such toxic people and, eventually, others will realize and do this too. You have to develop a thick skin, which I did, but finally I have arrived at a point where I can’t be bothered anymore expending precious energy on certain individuals.

When you look at it through my lens, you will realize how superficial it can be. How some people become ‘well-known’ for reasons other than being capable of doing something meaningful. They come up with a silly concept and they become popular for it. Are these the values and principles we want to teach to our future generations? That anyone can simply whip out a phone or a camera, make fun of their mother, and say or do things that show off nothing but ignorance and lack of propriety? As many people are telling me these days, these individuals have truly lost the plot. What a pity that youngsters have skewed role models, in the shape of individuals who have barely made it out of secondary school and have nothing to show but an artificial personality. .
.
.
Let us work to rebuild important values and dignity above all, before it is too late, and we end up with a generation of adults who cannot be bothered with upholding standards but expect things without doing anything in return.

Cheers to another weekend! .

I have barely had time to post anything this week-it’s been yet another intensive one juggling different things, which then takes its toll as I fell ill. However, I recovered well enough - though not fully - to make it to an event organized by @graziellecamilleri. It was so homely, relaxing, and welcoming that it uplifted my mood and my strength. It was different from the usual store event where people would crowd to crow over things that are part of a materialistic, consumeristic society.

I prefer connecting with people on different levels. It was such an interesting event, meeting enlightened individuals with whom you can have proper conversations.

Open your eyes and mind to the possibilities that you can achieve.

However, it’s easier said than done. It’s not enough to work harder, you have to work smarter very often. What does that even mean when there are people who, so insecure about themselves and jealous of others, sabotage your efforts, and any attempt at sharing your work?

They say that there is enough space for everyone, but a few individuals become territorial, like animals, and hoard everything for themselves. The reality is that time and truth will catch up with them and give them a taste of their medicine. They will get older, probably nastier, and possibly uglier (in personality and not just physically). Stay away from these type of individuals and surround yourself with small bursts of sunshine, the type of people who are happy of your success, and not threatened by it.
